The Richmond Charities is an almshouse charity based in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames with its origins dating back to 1600. The aim of the charity is to provide housing to elderly local residents who are in need of an improvement in their living conditions.
The Charity provides affordable homes for people in housing need who are over the age of 65. There are 124 almshouses comprising mainly one-bedroom cottages and bungalows.
The Charity administers two relief-in-need welfare charities, a relief-in-sickness charity and a very small charity that awards small quarterly grants to four deserving spinsters.
